eBook release: Cosplay Materials
A long time has passed since my last journal entry here. I guess I just can't keep up with that many social media at once! I do think I have news that are big enough for me to share here in my journal:
I PUBLISHED A BOOK!
Well, it's a short one, but I'm still proud that I finished such a (for me) big project! The book is about cosplay materials and is targeted at cosplayers who want to get into armors or perhaps are already making armors, but don't know that many different materials. The book describes the properties of a lot of different materials such as Worbla, foamboard PVC, LEDs, resin, car vinyl, Kobracast, EVA foam - and a lot more.
Cosplay madness
Wow, it's been so long since I updated this!
A lot of things happened since last - I went to my first cosplay contest! Didn't win, but I had a great time, and now I just want to improve my skills even more! I went to other conventions, too - experienced my first post-con depression (well, not really, just a 1-day sadness after coming home from an awesome weekend, hehe). I've seen both big cons and a small one this year, and they were fun in their own ways. I hope I get to see an international one some day soon!
This year, I've finished my druid costume, I've finished (well, almost finished) my Giselle cosplay, I've redone my Galadriel one an
Cosplay on Facebook
Yesterday, I decided to make a facebook page, so now I am going to shamelessly promote it here in my journal!
My page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Skymone-cosplay/597538356925855
It's meant as a progress page, a place for me to post my WIP pictures of my costumes to show the work process behind my cosplay. If you're curious, take a look, follow if you like :)
In two weeks, I will be participating in a cosplay contest at one of the conventions in Herning, and I'm working hard to finish my costume on time!
Worbla
So today, I finally realized that all the craft foam and all the expanding foam just won't give me the result I want, so I ordered a big sheet of worbla.
Holy shit is that stuff expensive! Especially with shipping to Denmark. I hope I can finally make the last armor pieces for my druid cosplay when I get it, though. I'm really excited!
Apart from that, I just bought a big stack of patterns, so now I will have a LOT to do for the rest of the year. I need more spare time and vacation!
